1970

-Heard Eric Burdon and War's "Spill the Wine" at summer camp. Noticed hippie types enjoying it.~ Got me thinking about the magic of music

1972

-Had CCR's rendition of~"Heard it Through the Grapevine" going on in my head way more than hockey practice of team~Cloverdale Gulf in the~West Mall atom~house league. - quit hockey

1974

-Started playing guitar: learned ragtime first - glutton for punisment.

-Dad took~me and my sister Bev to see The Guess Who at the CNE stadium.

1976

-Mom bought me my Yamaha FG-200 guitar - Non-metric model.

-First public performance: Burnhamthorpe Collegiate Institute's auditorium.~Folk guitar club. Played G.Lightfoot's "Canadian Railroad Trilogy" in front of about 500 people.

-Dad took Bev and me to see BTO at the CNE Stadium.

1977

-Saw Yes~at Rich Stadium in Buffalo

1978

-Took rock guitar lessons for three months - close enough to learn it.

1979

-Bought a Fender Stratocaster

-Formed my first band Burn. Couldn't play any of the cover~songs we tried to get down except the Sex Pistol's "Anarchy in the UK" - musta been a sign from God!~

-Burn played four gigs - three at Burnhamthorpe Collegiate Institute's "Feast of Fools Satire" theatre (the Play was Disco Dracula and we were the rock band - we did manage an ok effort of Zappa's "Disco Boy")~and one a week after in the school's caffeteria. Only remember playing one correct guitar solo to BTO's "Takin'~Care of Business". The band disolves under it's own weight of no talent.

1982

-Formed second band Southpaw(a blues band). Gig in the spring/summer of '83 - Turning Point, Larry's Hideaway, 100 Bond Street, Comercial Tavern in Ayton Ontario, Festival where biker's attended called "Porkbelly" - we did ok by now

1983

-Wrote "Make it work" and "Livin' on the Edge".

-Fall 83 quit Southpaw to complete university degree.

-Saw REM at the Concert Hall and The Last Resorts at the Turning Point.

1984

-Started working at Sam the Record Man until 1987- buy lotsa albums.

-Join Past Tense - two gigs - Larry's Hideaway, Adam's Rib.

1985

-See Husker Du at Larry's - had to mention it.

-First incarnation of Paper Rock Scissors then known as Group W - record 7 inch 45 of Dave's songs "I'll Survive" and "Building my ship" - play harp and slide on former - band slips away into dissolution shortly thereafter.

-Play at first three Creemore Dirtywater Upheaval parties - I guess I was a Gnarly Rabbit at one time or another in some capacity - with Matt Gagne (guitarist and now drummer extrordinaire) and Brian McCullough - drummer of Youth Youth Youth.

1986

~ See "The Dundrells" and "The Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet" at the Cabana Room and at OCA

1988

-write "Straight into Overload"

-I saw Midnight Oil at the Concert Hall - I was in the first row -~Peter Garrett~said to the crowd DO YOU ALL HAVE DIESEL AND DUST ON CD?~ISN'T THAT~THE BIGGEST SCAM OF ALL TIME! - well said Peter!

1990

-Join Mike Brennan and the Wayward Angels - play two gigs - Lee's Palace and Sneaky Dee's - the Bloor Street location.

- See The Tragically Hip at~"Richard's" in Mississauga with about 10 people in the audience.~ Our table requested "Last American Exit" and~Gord Downie thanked us for the request.

1992

-Met the love of my life, Teresa

-Group W reforms as Form 100 and played at the Free Time's cafe .

-Started writing my songs that appeared~on the CD - "Places"

1995

-Changed name to Paper Rock Scissors and recorded a demo cassette.

1997

-Married the love of my life, Teresa

2001

Saw Joe Strummer and the Mescalero's at the Government club two month's before~he passed away

2002

-Saw Andre Williams and The Strap at the Horseshoe Tavern

2003

-Saw The Driveby Truckers with The Illuminatae~opening the show~at The Horsshoe Tavern.

-Saw Slutarded at the Bovine and Oasis Clubs

2003 - Saw Justin Sullivan at Lee's Palace

2004

-Still writing songs~- have patience.
